General Dentistry

Checkups, cleaning, fillings and gum care: the unglamorous dentistry that keeps everything else standing. It is also where we start with every new patient, because the first checkup is free and it answers the only question that matters: what does this mouth actually need?

The routine that prevents the drama

Almost every expensive dental problem was once a cheap one. The crack that becomes a crown started as a bite issue a checkup would have caught. The implant replaces a tooth that gum care would have kept. Six-monthly checkups and hygiene cleans are the least glamorous purchase in dentistry and by far the best value.

The everyday services run from scale and polish, tooth-coloured fillings and gum treatment through to nightguards for grinders. Everything is done in the same clinic by the same team that handles our cosmetic work, so if something bigger is ever needed, the conversation and your records are already in one place. We are open to 21:00 on weekdays because checkups should not cost you work hours.

A first visit, start to finish

  1. 01

    The checkup

A full examination of teeth, gums and bite, with X-rays where needed. Free for new patients.

  2. 02

    The conversation

We show you what we found and what, if anything, needs doing, with written prices. Often the answer is nothing.

  3. 03

    The clean

A scale and polish removes the buildup brushing cannot, usually in the same visit.

  4. 04

    The schedule

We agree a recall interval that fits your mouth, typically six months, and the front desk handles reminders.

General Dentistry: your questions, answered

How often should I have a dental checkup?

Every six months for most adults. Healthy mouths with excellent home care can stretch to twelve; gum problems or heavy tartar buildup may need shorter intervals. We agree the recall that fits your mouth rather than applying one rule to everyone.

Is the first checkup really free?

Yes. New patients get a full examination at no cost and with no obligation. You leave with an honest picture of your dental health and written prices for anything that needs doing, which you are free to think about or decline.

Do you see urgent cases and toothaches?

Call the clinic on 056 349 8888 and tell the front desk it is urgent. We hold flexibility in the diary for pain cases wherever possible, and being open until 21:00 on weekdays means same-day slots exist more often than at most clinics.

Are your fillings white?

Yes, we place tooth-coloured composite fillings matched to your tooth's shade. Old metal fillings can also be replaced with composite when they fail, or earlier if the appearance bothers you.

If it has been more than a year since a dentist looked at your teeth, the free checkup is the easiest appointment you will book this month. It takes an hour and might cost you nothing at all.
