Feldspathic Veneers
Feldspathic porcelain is the traditional veneer material, and it survives in an age of milled ceramics for one reason: nothing else gives a ceramist the same control. Each veneer is layered by hand, shade upon shade, until it matches the tooth beside it under any light.
The hand-built veneer
Where an Emax veneer is milled from a single block, a feldspathic veneer is built up in thin layers of porcelain by a skilled ceramist. That layering is what produces the subtle colour gradients and translucency of real enamel, which is why many of the most demanding cosmetic cases still specify feldspathic work.
The material suits discolouration, small chips and minor misalignment on teeth that do not take heavy biting load. It is also among the most conservative options available: preparation is often minimal, keeping the bulk of your natural tooth untouched.

Feldspathic Veneers: your questions, answered
What is the difference between feldspathic and Emax veneers?
Emax veneers are milled from a single block of lithium disilicate and are the stronger of the two. Feldspathic veneers are layered by hand from traditional porcelain, which gives finer control over translucency and colour gradients. Emax suits load-bearing teeth; feldspathic shines on front teeth where looks matter most.
Are feldspathic veneers fragile?
They are thinner and more delicate than Emax, which is why case selection matters. On front teeth with a normal bite they serve for many years. Your dentist will not recommend feldspathic for a tooth that takes heavy chewing or grinding load.
Why choose a hand-layered veneer over a milled one?
Depth. A ceramist layering porcelain by hand can build in the subtle gradients real enamel has, from a slightly warmer neck to a more translucent edge. On a front tooth in daylight, that is the difference between a good veneer and an undetectable one.
